Whitney Elizabeth Houston was born on August 9th,
1963, in Newark, New Jersey. Whitney is the daughter of Cissy Houston, a
successful rhythm and blues backup singer, and cousin of singer Dionne
Warwick. Whitney began singing in a church choir in her hometown, and

news broke that Whitney Houston died at the age of 48 before the 54th annual
Grammy Awards were set to take place where a lot of people shock about the
issue.Saturday
evening at 5 p.m. PST, news announces that Whitney Houston, the R&B singer
and multiple Grammy winners’s passing surfaced. On Clive Davis
pre-Grammy party on that night , she was due to come out at that party. On
Friday, one Hollywood reporter broke
the news that Houston has approached for a judges' seat on The X Factor.
The singer’s death comes as a huge shock to friends, fans and family and thousands of people all over the world are mourning the tragedy today.
The cause of death of Whitney Houston has not been released but many media reports are saying it was a possible drug overdose. With all of the partying earlier this week, it appears Whitney was not knowingly ill but spent a lot of her time reportedly drinking and doing drugs.
Houston was best known for her role alongside Kevin Costner in the hit movie The Bodyguard and for her hit songs I Will Always Love You and Greatest Love of All.
